The company was originally founded in 1870 and began with a fleet of more than 50 horse drawn cabs. These horse drawn cabs operated up to the early 1900's. It is worth noting that Millers was responsible for ensuring that water troughs were placed at the top of inclines in Preston so that horses could refresh themselves after a long hard slog! When motorised vehicles came along Millers was the first company in Preston to offer saloon cars and limousines to the general public.
